The exhibition is part of several journeys to the czech-polish-german border region within the project called “Lost Places and Placed Histories”. In the putative outskirts, stories come closer and start to contradict. They stop to follow one line or national narratives. What does this mean for the landscape, its biographies and for the memory? Who comes, who leaves? The third station of this project is Dresden, not by chance. We will interfere with the memory politics of this city with experiences resulting from our journeys.

Die Ausstellung ist Teil mehrerer Reisen in die tschechisch-polnisch-deutsche Grenzregion im Rahmen des Projekts “Lost Places and Placed Histories” In den vermeintlichen Randlagen kommen die Geschichten näher und beginnen zu widersprechen. Sie hören auf, einer einzigen Linie oder nationalen Narrativen zu folgen. Was bedeutet das für Landschaft, für Biografien und das Erinnern? Wer kommt und wer geht? Die dritte Station des Projekts ist nicht von Ungefähr Dresden. In den Diskurs um Erinnerungspolitiken wollen wir uns mit den Ergebnissen unserer Reisen einmischen.
